About Us

OTREC is a national University Transportation Center and a partnership between Portland State University, the University of Oregon, Oregon State University and the Oregon Institute of Technology. We sponsor the research and education needed to meet the sustainable transportation needs of Oregon, the Northwest and the nation and encourage transportation leaders to put research results to use.

OTREC’s theme of Advanced Technology, Integration of Land Use and Transportation, and Healthy Communities emphasizes the core research competencies of Oregon. The relationships and questions that cut across our three-part theme offers the 21st Century perspective on multimodal transportation livability issues. The intent of the Transportation Livability Hub is to highlight the research, education, and technology transfer activities of OTREC and our partners that focus on transportation livability.
